Calendar page on the desktop app

The desktop app now has a Calendar page that shows your Outlook and Google meetings next to your recordings, and you can start recording any meeting straight from it.

• Meetings you start on the spot, or that the app detects, pick up the calendar event happening now, so recordings get the right title.
• All-day events land on the right day.
• If Microsoft or Google declines access, the app says why instead of showing an empty calendar.

Narrower Google permissions

LiteScribe now asks Google only for what it needs: the files you choose to import from Google Drive, and your calendar list and events. If you decline a permission, the app tells you what stops working rather than failing quietly.

No more paying twice for the same file

Upload a file you have already transcribed, on the web or the desktop app, and LiteScribe asks before starting again, so a second click never costs you a second time.

Live recordings keep going through our updates

Live transcription now runs on its own dedicated service. We update the rest of LiteScribe several times a week, and those updates no longer interrupt a meeting that is being transcribed live.

Clearer language and accuracy choices

High Accuracy live transcription is now open to every plan on the desktop app, with the price shown before you press Start.

• The upload picker on the web marks which languages also work for live recording.

A big update for iPhone and iPad

The latest iOS app brings the whole app into 15 languages and adds the meeting insights that were previously only on the web and desktop.

• Speaker Timeline shows who spoke when, and each person's share of the conversation.
• Screenshots taken during a recording appear in the transcript at the moment they were captured.
• Notes, action items, topics, chapters and sentiment for every transcript, plus your own notes.
• Speaker renames sync to your other devices, even if you made them offline.
• Side-by-side layouts on iPad and larger screens, with drag and drop between panes and apps.
• Tapping a timestamp in an AI answer jumps to that moment.
• Buy minute packs at App Store prices in one tap, and get a notification when a transcript is ready.

Meeting recap decks and Copy for email

PowerPoint export now builds a short recap deck of the meeting, and a new Copy for email action gives you a summary that is ready to paste and send. You can preview both before exporting.

• One export menu, the same on every screen of the web app and the desktop app.
• The PowerPoint preview shows the real slides of your recap deck.
• People a transcript is shared with can export it too.

Sturdier live recording in the browser

Live recordings on the web now save audio every couple of seconds while you record, so even a closed tab loses almost nothing.

• The live transcript reconnects on its own after a dropped connection.
• Any recording that did not finish saving is retried the next time you open the app.
• The live view shows who is speaking and whether you are connected.
• If your microphone disconnects mid-meeting, the recording is saved and you are told why it stopped.
• You are told when a recording hears sound but no words, and warned before you close a recording by mistake.
• The screen stays awake while you record, and the summary appears without a page refresh.

A new LiteScribe icon

LiteScribe has one icon everywhere now: an orange waveform on a dark tile, across the web, desktop, browser extension and mobile apps.

LiteScribe in 15 languages

The web app, the desktop app, the browser extension, the iPhone app and our emails are now available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian and Hindi.

• Pick your language from the globe menu and it is saved to your account.
• AI summaries and chat answers follow the language of the meeting.
• Pricing, features, use cases and download pages on the website are translated too.

Redesigned browser extension side panel

The extension has a cleaner start screen, reorganized Settings with an Appearance section and accent colors, and its own language picker. It now asks for access to the meeting tab only, rather than every website.

• A level meter for each audio source while you record, so you can see both sides of the call are coming through.
• If the live connection stalls, the extension catches it within seconds and replays the audio it missed.
• Help and support are one click away in Settings.

Transcript chat with cited moments

Chat with a transcript now lives in its own Chat tab with an Ask bar that stays pinned. Answers stream in as they are written, point to the moments in the meeting they come from, and let you choose between Fast and Thorough.

An easier start on the desktop app

New desktop users get a short Getting Started list that shows what LiteScribe can do, and the welcome screen says how many free minutes you have and lets you import a recording from a link.

• Free accounts can try Local Mode on 30 seconds of their own audio.
• On a Mac, a permissions check runs before meeting and screen recording, so a missing permission is caught before you start.
• When a file is longer than your remaining minutes, the app asks before uploading and shows the pack options with prices.

Choose the live transcription language before you start

The web app, desktop app, browser extension and iPhone app now show a language picker for live transcription, listing only the languages it supports live, and show the credit rate before you press Start.

AI analysis and translation on every plan

AI summaries, action items and analysis are now included on the free plan too. A new Translate button on the transcript page turns any transcript into another language, on every plan.

Prices shown up front, everywhere

Wherever you might run out of minutes, on the web, desktop, extension or mobile, LiteScribe now shows the minute packs and their prices instead of a dead end.

• Preview any formatted export before downloading it.
• Signing up on mobile puts Google and Apple first, and says what the email link does.

Better speaker separation in live meetings

Live transcripts now correct speaker labels as the meeting goes on, and the browser extension separates your voice from everyone else on the call.

• In the extension, your microphone and the meeting audio are tracked separately, so one going quiet is noticed straight away.
• A reconnect or Stop never throws away audio or the last thing said.
• The live transcript survives the browser restarting the extension in the background.

Write your own notes on a recording

Add and edit your own notes on any transcript, right next to the AI summary, so your context and the meeting record stay in one place.

Safeguards on uploads and billing

We tightened how recordings are uploaded and charged, so a flaky connection or a double tap cannot cost you extra.

• Web uploads retry brief network failures on their own.
• The "Already uploaded" dialog shows what a second transcription would cost before you confirm.
• A live session that hears audio but produces no words is stopped rather than left running.
• We are alerted automatically if a session is ever charged without delivering a transcript.

Sharper Local Mode live transcription

Live transcription that runs entirely on your computer is now steadier and more accurate, and safer at the moment you press Stop.

• No more repeated words at the joins between chunks of audio, and no invented text during silence.
• Live transcription gets priority on the graphics card, so on-device AI no longer slows it down.
• Local recordings can no longer be lost or cut short at Stop.
• The app shows how long a transcription has left, and says when the on-device AI is paused.
• On a Mac, Local Mode uses the built-in graphics acceleration.

Faster capture in the browser extension

Grant microphone access once and recording starts straight away. A region chip remembers the last area of the screen you captured, so you can grab it again with one click during a meeting.

• The calendar on the web and desktop shows the start time of every transcript.
• A recording is only reported as saved once it really is.

Transcription and AI processing in the EU

Uploaded files are now transcribed, and AI summaries and chat are processed, in our speech provider's EU data zone. Live transcription already ran there.

Emails you can reply to

Every email from LiteScribe now comes from an address you can reply to. If something goes wrong with a recording, we try to recover it first and then email you the outcome, not just the error.

• In Local Mode, every in-meeting AI feature now stays on your computer.

120 free minutes every month

The free plan now includes 120 minutes of transcription every month, enough to try LiteScribe on real meetings before you buy anything.

Better exports for screenshots

Exports that include screenshots now add them full size in an appendix, with text descriptions that screen readers can announce.

Record a meeting from a browser tab

Record Live in the web app can now capture a browser tab's audio together with your microphone, so you can transcribe an online meeting without installing anything.

Desktop app ready for macOS 26

The desktop app moved to a newer app framework with support for macOS 26, alongside a tidier Record page and a single Activity Center for notifications.

• Meeting audio levels are evened out, so quiet speakers are easier to hear.
