Q.Is transcription really 100% offline?
Yes. With the LiteScribe Local Transcription Engine installed, your audio is transcribed on your own CPU or GPU - no internet, no upload, nothing sent to a third-party AI company. Offline mode is part of the Pro and Business plans, and the cloud is always there when you want it.
Q.Is my data private?
On the offline path your audio and the local AI that summarises it both run on your machine; nothing is sent to a server. You decide per recording whether to keep it desktop-only or sync it to the cloud.
Q.Which plans include offline mode?
Offline transcription and on-device AI are part of the Pro and Business plans. Transcription draws from your plan's minutes; the local AI then summarises, translates and cleans up your transcripts on your machine, so nothing - audio or text - is ever sent to a third-party AI company.
Q.Do I need a powerful GPU?
No. The app detects your hardware and picks a model tier that fits your RAM and VRAM, with a CPU fallback. A GPU just makes it faster.
Q.How big is the download?
The app installs in seconds. Offline models are an optional one-time download (the engine is ~50 MB and a recommended model ~1-2 GB) - only when you turn on offline mode on a Pro or Business plan.
