Why translate French to Japanese with LiteScribe

Three scripts handled

The Japanese translation mixes kanji, hiragana, and katakana correctly, with loanwords rendered in katakana as native readers expect.

Polite business register

Business French is translated into polite Japanese (keigo), which suits meeting notes and external communication.

Speaker labels carry over

Diarization on the French audio means the Japanese translation preserves who said what.

Free to start

300 minutes every month on the free plan covers most calls and short videos.

What makes French and Japanese distinct

French

Francais

Family
Romance
Script
Latin (LTR)
Speakers
~310 million across five continents
Where
France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada (Quebec), and large parts of West and Central Africa

French is full of liaison and elision: final consonants link into the next word ("les amis" sounds like "lezami") and vowels contract ("je ai" becomes "j'ai"), so word boundaries are acoustically blurred. Nasal vowels and silent endings mean the model leans heavily on context, and accented characters (e, e, a, c) must be preserved for the text to read correctly.

Japanese

日本語

Family
Japonic
Script
Kanji + Hiragana + Katakana (LTR)
Speakers
~125 million native speakers
Where
Japan, with sizeable communities in Brazil, the United States, and across the Pacific

Japanese mixes three scripts in a single sentence: kanji for content words, hiragana for grammar, and katakana for loanwords, and it is written without spaces, so the transcript has to segment a continuous string correctly. Politeness levels (keigo) reshape verb endings for business speech, homophones are extremely common and resolved from context, and the many English loanwords in corporate Japanese are rendered in katakana rather than left in the Latin alphabet.

A worked example

French (source)

Merci de votre presence; nous allons revoir les chiffres du trimestre avant de passer aux questions.

Japanese (translation)

ご参加いただきありがとうございます。質疑応答に入る前に、今四半期の数字を確認しましょう。

The formal French opening maps to the polite Japanese "thank you for joining" with keigo, and "passer aux questions" becomes the natural Japanese phrase for entering the Q and A.
